Jumpers on our competitive jump rope team compete in speed, power & freestyle events at regional and national tournaments. We are members of USA Jump Rope and AAU Jump Rope.
We offer classes for new and experienced jumpers ages 5 and up. New jumpers are welcome at Jump Rope Club. Jump Rope Team practices Mondays & Wednesdays from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
About Jumpin' Beinz
Coach Eileen Alvo is dedicated to encouraging children to enjoy health and fitness. She has taught physical education to elementary school students for 30 years and is a certified personal trainer. At the AAU Regional tournament in Miami in April 2011, Coach Alvo received the John Swan Memorial Award for her dedication to the sport of jump rope.
We perform exciting and interactive demonstrations for schools, sports events, parties, and community organizations. We show off our skills and then we get kids and adults out of the audience and into the ropes! We are proud to have performed at the Barry University Men's Basketball team halftime show in February & December 2011.
In 2002, Coach Eileen Alvo started teaching a few young children how to jump rope in her P.E. class at Bet Breira School, a small private school in Miami. From there, she built a nationally competitive jump rope team -- the only team from a private school in Florida.
The Jumpin' Beinz team has competed and received medals/top-ten ribbons at the USA and AAU regional tournaments for the past seven years, as well as at the AAU Junior Olympics for the last six years and at USA Nationals. The team was the American Heart Association's demonstration team for Jump Rope for Heart in the Miami area for three years.
